Utah is an incredible place to go into the mountains and hike the beautiful lands. If you have any questions on where the best place is to go explore get a hold of one of the guides or simply check out the places listed below. Utah has a lot of places to explore for hiking, fishing, caves, etc..

Most the Mountains in the Uintah fall into the Ashley National Forest. Has elevation that ranges between 6,000 ft. to 13,528 ft. The most visited place in the Ashley National Forest is around the Flaming Gorge Resevior which you can get to from US 191. There is even a small portion of the forest that goes into Wyoming.

Dixie National Forest borders the four main parks Cedar Breaks, Bryce Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante and Capitol Reef. Most of the land is dense forest and is about 3,000 square miles. The main access routes are between Long Valley and Torrey on UT 12, UT 14 and UT 143 are around Cedar Breaks and they all link with routes with less tracks.

Manti-La Sal National Forest is 1.41 million acres divided into three sections in Central and Southeast Utah and a small part of Colorado. The main area is mainly in Central Utah located West of Price. You will also find part of it located North close to Moab and Arches National Park.

Fishlake National Forest is land in the west of central Utah, which is split by I70. The largest part covers the Pahvant Range and Tushar Mountains which is bordered by the SeFurther east, the national forest inclvier River going east to west of I70.  There are numerous lakes, streams and summits in these areas. You will enjoy visiting this forest no matter which part you visit.

Uinta National Forest, near Nephi going northbound to the American Fork Canyon and Mount Timpanogos, then heading eastbound to the border of Fishlake and Wasatch-Cache national forests. Contains 880,000 acres of land and have many roads, tracks, trails, campsites, ski areas, and reservoirs that are great for boating and fishing. This forest is a major go-to for recreation all year round.

Wasatch-Cache is located by Salt Lake City and contains incredible scenic locations, trails and other recreation sites. Wasatch-Cache forest had combined with the Uinta National Forest recently to protect 2.5 million acres of land. Come visit this forest to see the amazing views and enjoy the outdoors. 

Caves

Timpanogos Cave! To go visit this beautiful cave you must first hike your way up and past some incredible scenery. Enjoy the view of this incredible cave with every wonderfully decorated twist and turn. You will also enjoy the company of the amazing nocturnal lives that hang about inside. 

Cave will be closed until the spring of 2020. 

So if you call ahead before your trip to the area you may be lucky enough to get in and see the beautiful views inside. Click the link to find out more information!

There is some natural light that travels in so you don’t need much lighting to bring in with you to see.

 

It’s a very dark cave so lighting will be required to see but it’s flat ground so you don’t have to worry about stumbling around. There is a short steep hike required to get to the cave but it’s worth it. Once inside the cave it is damp so your feet might get a little wet.

Lehman Cave is actually not in Utah it is just a few miles over the Nevada Border.  To get to this cave there wont be any hiking necessary. To find out more information click the link.
